Role Title: FADS ILS Support
Role Description:
The role is focused heavily on supporting the planning and preparation of arrangements for the Conduct of a Preview and Test Evaluation activity being jointly conducted with the United States Department of War on Australian territory. Additionally the incumbent will be required to support the FADS ILS Manager by providing ILS expertise delivering on tasks related to Acquisition ILS AIR6500 Ph2A/2B and other projects within the Future Air Defence Systems branch portfolio. Specific requirements of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Working with CASG, RAAF and broader defence stakeholders to Identify logistics and support requirements for the PT&E Activity and developing supporting plans to achieve logistics effects for PT&E
- Building effective working relationships with US counterparts through direct formal in-person engagement mechanisms, working groups and routine communications to progress logistics plans and issue resolution in real time (at times outside of normal business hours)
- Liaise extensively with US Dept. of War Stakeholders in planning and identifying logistics requirements and supporting their planning and interaction with Australian government agencies
- Supporting and attending PT&E planning working groups outside of normal business hours
- Responding to RFIs, questions and queries as required
- Executing PT&E logistic support functions against accepted schedules and plans
- Detailed knowledge of ADF and Defence logistics processes and systems (EO logistics knowledge highly desirable)
- Liaising with Australian industry and other government agencies and departments to arrange provision of logistics and other services
- Managing logistics costs and estimates
- Providing bottom-up estimates for logistics costs and supporting financial reporting and forecasting cycles
- In-field Support to test event execution from remote locations for extended timeframes
- Ability to work in remote and austere locations in support of activities and operations
- Lead and Support the development of Defence acquisition project logistics artefacts supporting defence project gate submission processes
- Other tasks as required.
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience within the ADF Capability Life Cycle.
• Previous experience in Government Procurement, more specifically Defence procurement.
• Demonstrated Stakeholder Management for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated FIC/ILS experience for large and complex acquisition and sustainment projects.
• The Information System Officer must be able to access ITAR/US Export Technology Control, and as such cannot be from, have strong ties to, or be a dual citizen of, a prescribed/prohibited tier 1 or tier 2 country.
