G1 Facility Services is a leading facility maintenance and construction provider, proudly serving customers nationally. We provide facility and preventative maintenance services to aviation, government, and commercial facilities throughout the United States and the Caribbean. With over two decades of experience in the maintenance and construction industries, we are seeking to add an experienced Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Scope of Work:
As the Lead Engineer, you are responsible for overseeing all engineering team members assigned to your shift. You will ensure that all team members complete their assigned tasks related to repairs, maintenance, and the overall upkeep of the operation. This role also includes performing general maintenance duties as well as more advanced tasks that may require specialized training.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations during assigned shift to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Effectively communicate with and supervise all team members assigned to your shift
- Evaluate, prioritize, and assign all Maximo work orders generated for your shift
- Manage team members’ time and productivity, ensuring they remain motivated and on task
- Perform skilled maintenance and mechanical duties necessary to support the operation
- Complete maintenance tasks related to life safety equipment, terminal furnishings, and general building systems
- Repair or replace thermostats, perform electrical repairs, replace lighting, and maintain space heaters as needed
- Repair or replace window screens, latches, and perform minor door repairs
- Perform other related maintenance tasks as assigned
- Support operational goals by coordinating workflow, assigning tasks, and managing resources effectively
Requirements
- Must have a valid US driver's License with at least 3 years of experience- approvals and final decision is subjected to our automobile insurance carrier's criteria
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills as a team shift leader, providing clear instructions to team members
- Adapt and work effectively in an environment with frequently changing priorities
- Utilize a mobile device to read work orders, track notifications, and log completed maintenance tasks
- Submit progress reports on open work orders in Maximo, both orally and in writing
Maintenance/Service and Troubleshooting Requirements
- Respond promptly to reported service calls at the operation, addressing mechanical or maintenance-related issues
- Perform skilled-level service call tasks in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, and other trades
- Conduct routine plumbing repairs, including clearing sink drains, unclogging toilets, and clearing sewer or drain lines
- Perform re-lamping and maintenance of lighting fixtures
- Complete routine electrical, mechanical, and sheet metal repairs
- Maintain company tools and equipment in good working condition
- Work in a neat, organized manner and clean up after each task
- Safely work on ladders, lifts, confined spaces, and crawl spaces, both overhead and under floors
- Complete all assigned preventive maintenance (PM) tasks according to schedule in Maximo, covering fixed assets such as water heaters, fan coil units, cooling and ventilation systems, and refrigeration systems
- Defer PM tasks in Maximo when service calls or other operational priorities prevent timely completion
- Assist in maintaining fire, carbon monoxide, smoke, and other Fire Life Safety Systems by completing assigned PM tasks
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance work
- Troubleshoot and perform system resets of the Muratec system
- Troubleshoot and perform pump testing on the sewage ejector pump systems
- Respond to and operate the building’s fire alarm system during activations, including resetting and restoring the fire alarm panel to normal service
- Monitor and adjust the Building Management System (BMS), taking corrective actions as needed
- Inspect electrical and mechanical breakdowns, review equipment maintenance history, communicate with machine operators, diagnose causes of failure, and perform corrective actions as necessary
Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30am. Days off to be determined.
Compensation: $34.16 per hour. Medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401k
