Travel Registered Nurse – PCU (Acute Leukemia / Hematology)

Position Overview:

Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a PCU assignment supporting an Acute Leukemia and Hematology patient population in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a high-acuity progressive care environment with a strong focus on infection prevention and patient safety.

Schedule:

• Day (3x12-hour shifts): 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• Night (3x12-hour shifts): 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

• Variable weekends based on unit needs

• No set or blocked scheduling

• Self-schedule requests accepted prior to final schedule posting

Compensation:

• Gross: $2,359 per week

• W2: $24.50 per hour

• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week

• Locals accepted at the same rate

Contract Details:

• Start Date: February 23, 2026

• Duration: 13 weeks

• Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling

• Orientation:

  – Week 1: Monday–Friday dayshift

  – Week 2: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor

Unit Overview:

• Acute Leukemia & Hematology PCU

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Staffing ratios: goal 1:4 (may flex to 1:5)

• High emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention

Clinical Focus:

• Newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients

• Hematology and oncology-related care

• Telemetry monitoring

• Blood product administration

• Rapid response and escalation of care

NO chemotherapy certification required for this unit.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required

• PCU, MS, or Telemetry experience required

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Epic charting experience required

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required

• Experience with blood product administration required

• Strong infection prevention and patient safety practices required

• Ability to work day or night shifts as needed

• First-time travelers accepted (screened to client for review)

• Valid compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission

• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
