We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Hanley Center Foundation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and  comfortable space where clients can focus on healing and recovery. Duties include routine cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, and facility restrooms, as well as ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met. Duties & Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the cleanliness of all areas assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This will include: client rooms, restrooms, offices, group rooms and kitchens. Duties will include vacuuming, dusting, cleaning vents, walls, floors and light fixtures, plus general cleaning. These tasks include working on various units throughout Hanley Foundations various campuses.

· Follow required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects/materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA, state health and Company’s Exposure Control Plan regulations and standards. Report safety hazards, accidents/incidents and broken equipment or repairs to Maintenance or Housekeeping Supervisor.

· Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.

· Must be flexible with schedule when given sufficient notice to do so; the ability to work beyond normal hours and weekend may be necessary as dictated by business needs, unless in an emergency situation.

· Have an understanding how to launder our linens daily or as needed.

· Attend and participate in education programs and staff meetings as required.

· Responsible for keeping housekeeping cart clean and stocked.

· Use safety precautions in all housekeeping areas.

· Uphold all Hanley Foundation Policies and Procedures.

· Maintain client/potential client confidentiality in accordance with Hanley Policy.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in institutional Housekeeping or similar position preferred.
  • Laundry experience helpful but not necessary.
  • If in recovery, one (1) year continuous sobriety is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, clients and visitors.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize workdays.
  • Ability to practice accepted methods for ensuring universal precautions and blood borne pathogens.
  • Ability to understand and follow the procedures for reporting hazardous or unsafe conditions to maintenance.
  • Ability to display positive attitude toward all clients, visitors and staff.
  • Ability to show a strong, positive image within the department.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
