Job Description
The purpose of the position is to provide support for effective accounting and reporting, as well as lead on the preparation of weekly management accounts and month end processes such as balance sheets in your respective area. As a result, the role is often the first point of contact for cost reporting and variance analysis.
- Assist with the preparation, presentation and commentary of management information for the Company, including weekly and monthly accounts, in line with Group reporting deadlines
- Liaise with the relevant departments in the Business to ensure that all transactions are recorded on an accurate and timely basis
- Own the preparation and processing of journals for the weekly and monthly reporting process
- Identify and investigate any variances to plan within the weekly and monthly accounts
- Managing of Balance Sheet items and to complete all balance sheet reconciliations for the Company at the required times and frequency
- Reviewing P&L cost items on a regular basis to develop understanding of cost base and present key trends
- Focus on developing and improving weekly, month end and other financial processes outside of reporting timetable
- Provide financial support to senior budget holders in their decision making process, along with analysis for planning and projects (as required)
- Assist with the preparation of external and internal audit schedules (as required) for Finance Manager / Senior Finance Manager review
- Other ad hoc projects and any other tasks that might be reasonably requested
Qualifications
As the successful candidate you will be able to evidence that you have finished university with a minimum 2:1 classification in any degree discipline. Additionally you must be willing to study either ACCA or CIMA qualification (ACA is not offered)

- Ability to build rapport with the Finance team and other departments in addition to excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer literacy skills being proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
