Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sell new and used heavy duty trucks in a dedicated territory. This will include inside and outside sales calls on customers in your assigned territory.
- Assist customers in selecting/ordering trucks and components which best suit their business needs.
- Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the sale of heavy-duty vehicles.
- Actively find new and existing prospects outside of the dealership.
- Provide follow-up and ongoing service to existing customers.
- Provide excellent service to walk-in and call-in customers on assigned floor days.
- Deliver new trucks and be able to explain new-truck warranty and service policies.
- Study truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application on a continuous basis.
- Appraise used trucks as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Abilities:
- Activities require a full range of motion including; handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- This position may require standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- This position requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
- This position requires the occasional ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- This position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and MVR in good standing.

Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Three to five years of experience selling medium to heavy trucks.
