Location: Rochester, NY

Department:  Children, Youth and Family Services
Employment Type: Full time

Schedule: typically Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm schedule may vary on occasion depending on client needs

Salary:  $25.50 -$26.90 (more depending on years of experience) 


General Description

Under regular supervision the Sexual Abuse Treatment Social Worker provides specialized, trauma-informed counseling services to children, adolescents, and families impacted by sexual abuse. This role focuses on assessment, therapeutic intervention, and ongoing support to promote healing, safety, and family stability. The social worker works collaboratively with caregivers, multidisciplinary partners, and referring systems to address trauma symptoms, strengthen protective factors, and support recovery. Services are delivered in accordance with best practices, ethical standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides home-based, face-to-face services to children, individuals, and families impacted by trauma, including sexual abuse. Services include counseling, education, advocacy, life-skills development, crisis intervention, and completion of required documentation to support client needs and program compliance. 
  • Completes comprehensive assessments and develops, implements, and monitors individualized service plans appropriate to the client population served.
  • Coordinates service delivery across systems, completing and facilitating required screenings and evaluations, including medical, educational, legal, vocational, law enforcement, and mental health services. 
  • Works collaboratively with Monroe County Department of Human Services, courts, and community providers, including attending court-related appointments and client service plan meetings, and may assist with transportation as needed.
  • Supports clients during crises related to food insecurity, housing instability, abuse, domestic violence, and other emergent needs, while promoting connection to culturally responsive community resources. 
  • Actively participates in community events, agency meetings, staff trainings, and program development initiatives.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential case records; prepares required reports and statistics; and ensures documentation complies with program policies and procedures. 
  • Participates in ongoing professional development through supervision, in-service and external trainings, conferences, and engagement with current, relevant professional literature.
  • Communicates significant client-related events to supervision in a timely manner and engages in regular supervision to support professional growth and quality service delivery.
  • Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Child Welfare or similar experience preferred. 

Credentials: Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Experience: Two or more years of experience in the child welfare or community service fields preferred.
