About the Role

ETI Precision is looking for a talented Quality Control Inspector to join its growing team in Frederick, MD! This is a full-time role offering competitive pay and great benefits.

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections and verification of incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role is essential in maintaining ETI Precision’s commitment to accuracy, reliability, and excellence in the calibration and manufacturing of precision instruments and systems.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, solid understanding of quality principles, and experience working with electrical, electronic, and mechanical components. This position directly supports the Quality Manager in maintaining product conformity, process control, and documentation integrity throughout the production lifecycle.

Location: Office in Frederick, MD

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Inspection:

  • Perform detailed inspections of incoming raw materials, components, and subassemblies, including electronic and electrical parts, cables, connectors, metal fabrications, machined parts, and hardware.
  • Verify conformance to purchase order requirements, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Document inspection results and nonconformances using standardized forms or ERP/QMS systems

In-Process & Final Inspection:

  • Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing and assembly operations to ensure compliance with work instructions and quality standards.
  • Perform final inspection of completed units prior to shipment, ensuring documentation completeness and calibration certification accuracy.

Documentation & Traceability:

  • Maintain accurate and legible inspection records, certificates of conformance, material certifications, and test data; as appropriate.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming materials; initiate Corrective Action/Preventative Actions (CAPA’s) as required.
  • Assist in corrective action activities under the guidance of the Quality Manager.

Measurement & Tools:

  • Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, multimeters, continuity testers, torque wrenches) to verify part dimensions and electrical continuity.
  • Maintain calibration integrity of inspection tools and verify traceability as required by ISO 9001 and ANSI/NCSL Z540 standards.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

  • Support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 and customer audits.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety procedures and quality system policies
