You are comfortable translating data into insight, building scalable processes, and supporting fundraising teams with the tools and information they need to succeed. What You’ll Do
As the Director of Philanthropy, you will play a key leadership role in advancing Camillus House fundraising strategy while strengthening the department’s use of data, technology, and performance analytics. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy, you will partner closely with philanthropy leadership, finance, and operations to ensure effective fundraising execution, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities include:

  • Individual Giving and Donor Management: Manage and actively cultivate a portfolio of approximately one hundred fifty donors/prospects through all stages of the donor cycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Fundraising Strategy and Goal Achievement: Partner with the Senior Vice President to develop short term and long term fundraising goals, monitor progress, and meet or exceed annual performance targets.
  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Build meaningful donor relationships through personalized outreach such as meetings, tours, thank you calls, written acknowledgments, and impact reporting.
  • Campaigns and Annual Giving: Support the planning and execution of annual giving campaigns with a focus on growing donors into major and leadership gift relationships.
  • Prospect Development: Collaborate with leadership to identify, prioritize, and evaluate donor prospects aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Proposals and Impact Reporting: Work with program and finance teams to develop funding proposals, track gift outcomes, and ensure compliance with donor intent.
  • Giving Communities and Events: Manage giving community programs, including committee engagement, programming, fundraising initiatives, and assist with events such as the annual gala and auction.
  • Sponsorships and Special Initiatives: Secure sponsorships and philanthropic support for events and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Data Integrity and Systems: Maintain accurate donor records and ensure timely entry of all gifts, interactions, and reports in the CRM system.
  •  Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, programs, and communications to ensure transparency, accountability, and a consistent donor experience.
  • Other Duties as Assigned


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing/communication, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising with a demonstrated record of success in individual giving.
  • Experience closing individual gifts, preferably within a human services or mission driven organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a donor portfolio and advance relationships toward increased engagement and giving.
  • Proficiency with donor databases and CRM systems such as Bloomerang or similar platforms, along with strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to donor confidentiality.
  • Ability to translate data and reporting into actionable fundraising strategies.
  • Comfort working with diverse populations and sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable communities.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish preferred, additional languages such as Creole a plus.
  • Valid Florida driver license with a clean driving record and successful completion of required background screening.
