Job Summary:

The Residential Loan Originator is responsible for originating residential loans for the bank’s portfolio and secondary market; promoting the Bank and its lending services to the community; and is well versed in other lending products offered by the Bank.  Must meet or exceed the standards set forth by the NMLS to qualify as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) including but not limited to a high level of financial responsibility, and character. 

Requirements

  

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years’ experience in residential lending in a financial institution or loan office setting.
  • Firm understanding of residential loan documentation requirements as well as existing regulatory requirements
  • Must register or be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS).
  • Good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with customers and real estate agents about the bank’s loan programs and policies.
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, flexible and team-oriented work environment.
  • Knowledge of general banking products and services; ability to learn, comprehend and follow the bank’s policies regarding the lending process.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once with strong attention to detail.
  • Pleasant, outgoing personality towards external and internal customers.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; Previous office experience with basic clerical skills preferred.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
