Essential Job Functions – Ground Labor
Ground Engineers (Ground Laborers) support daily rock crushing quarry operations in the Kingman area, specifically Chloride, AZ. This position involves physically demanding, hands-on work critical to production, safety, and site upkeep. Work is primarily outdoors and requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and strict compliance with MSHA and company safety standards.
Material Handling
- Load and unload rock, sand, gravel, and other materials from trucks, conveyors, and stockpiles using hand tools
- Secure loads using chains, straps, and tie-down devices
- Move and organize materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks, and similar equipment
- Remove debris and waste materials from work areas
Equipment Operation Assistance
- Assist equipment operators (loaders, excavators, conveyors) by spotting and guiding equipment
- Perform basic pre-operation checks under direction
- Clean and assist with routine equipment maintenance (washing, greasing)
- Learn basic equipment operation as opportunities arise
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized quarry site
- Clean around equipment to prevent material buildup
- Perform basic maintenance tasks under supervision
- Maintain organized storage and staging areas
Safety Compliance
- Follow all company and MSHA safety rules and procedures
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Identify and report hazards immediately
- Participate in safety meetings and training
General Labor
- Perform assigned labor tasks including shoveling, digging, lifting, and raking
- Operate hand and power tools with proper training
- Assist with maintenance and repair activities
- Perform cleanup and other duties as assigned
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
- Outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, dust, and noise common to quarry environments
