Lead the team by setting technical direction, crafting and providing technical solutions for our games. We’re looking for exceptional engineers with a strong passion for technology and hands-on experience in Unity and C#. The Principal Software Engineer will play a key role as part of the MGT Organization, focusing on advanced technology developments for building scalable end-to-end products which can be integrated into the various games.&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Define, architect, &amp; develop core engine components and build systems for iOS, Android, Kindle, and webGL using Unity and C#</li> <li>Drive end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives, from technical design and implementation to production rollout, monitoring, and ongoing operational ownership.</li> <li>Offer technical leadership by reviewing and guiding detailed compositions, ensuring alignment with Zynga’s long-term technical vision and standard methodologies.</li> <li>Collaborate multi-functionally with product, engineering, and operations teams to translate product and customer requirements into robust technical solutions.</li> <li>Establish and monitor engineering processes, quality metrics, and operational benchmarks to improve software delivery and system reliability.</li> <li>Guide incident response and postmortems, ensuring root-cause analysis and structural fixes rather than one-off patches.</li> <li>Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.</li> <li>While this is a client-focused engineering role, exposure to backend systems is beneficial. Familiarity with server-side concepts—or interest in learning them—is a strong plus, especially as our compliance solutions include both client and service components.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>What You Bring:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience</li> <li>6+ years of software development experience</li> <li>Strong programming experience using Unity and C# as development environments or one of the following: C/C++, Java, Python</li> <li>Expert knowledge in mobile development, Unity, C#</li> <li>Deep experience with Xcode, and Android Studio</li> <li>Experience with database optimization: SQL, NoSQL, and data caching technologies/in-memory databases such as MemCached and Redis</li> <li>Programming RESTful services</li> <li>Strong Object Oriented design and architecture skills</li> <li>Deep understanding of algorithms, design patterns, debugging and performance optimization</li> <li>Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written)</li> </ul> <h4><strong>What We Offer You</strong><strong>:</strong></h4> <p>Zynga offers a world-class benefits package that helps support and balance the needs of our teams. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
