Position Title: Noah’s Canteen Host
Department: Food & Beverage
Location: Family-Friendly Year-Round Ski & Mt Bike Resort
Status: Seasonal / Part-Time (as applicable)
Position Summary
Noah’s Canteen Host is the first point of contact for guests dining at Silver Mt Resort. This role is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and organized dining experience for families, children, and guests of all ages. The Host manages guest flow, supports front-of-house operations, and upholds the resort’s standards for safety, cleanliness, and hospitality
Requirements
Guest Experience
· Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival
· Provide clear direction regarding seating, ordering procedures, and amenities
· Maintain a friendly, patient, and upbeat demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
· Engage positively with families and children, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
Seating & Flow Management
· Manage guest lines and seating assignments efficiently
· Monitor dining room capacity and wait times
· Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations
· Assist with crowd control during peak ski and bike hours (lunch rushes, holidays, weekends)
Cleanliness & Safety
· Maintain cleanliness of entryways, host stands, and dining areas
· Support table clearing, sanitizing, and resetting as needed
· Ensure walkways remain clear and safe for guests in ski boots and winter gear
· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and resort safety protocols
Team Support
· Communicate effectively with servers, cashiers, kitchen staff, and supervisors
· Assist with guest questions, special requests, and basic issue resolution
· Support opening and closing duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
· Experience working with families and children strongly desired
· Ability to remain calm, friendly, and organized in busy environments
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to stand for extended periods and work in year-round resort setting
· Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak ski season hours
Physical Requirements
· Standing and walking for extended periods
· Lifting up to 30 lbs occasionally
· Working in a high-traffic environment with fluctuating temperatures
