About the Role

O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a full-time Jr. Docket Clerk to join its San Francisco, CA office. We are looking for candidates that have an eye for detail, resourceful, and care about the little things. Candidates will have 1-3 years of legal experience, background in docketing or litigation support and administration.  Must possess professional communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) and can follow procedures and ask questions when unsure.  A paralegal certificate or other legal education is a plus.

The Jr. Docket Clerk will be responsible for calendaring court dates, deadline tracking and docketing maintenance across multiple jurisdictions.  This is an entry-level role designed for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to build a foundation in litigation support and court procedures.  The Jr. Docket Clerk also provides timely reports of response dates on a regular basis and works on specific projects and research assignments. 

Primary Duties Include but are not limited to:

·       Assist with entering and maintaining litigation deadlines in the firm’s docketing/calendaring system – CourtAlert across multiple offices

·       Assist with updating case information, attorney assignments, and case lists

·       Help prepare reports and deadline summaries

·       Review pleadings, notices, and order to identify deadlines

·       Organize and distribute information relating to court calls.

·       Support training efforts by documenting procedures and workflows

·       Drafting, editing, and filing pleadings and discovery with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies.

·       Scheduling meetings and conference calls.

·       Copying, scanning, and saving documents to file.

Ideal candidate should have a very strong understanding of the litigation process as well as Federal, State and Local court rules and procedures, excellent computer skills with knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and MS Office, including Outlook; excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail; able to work independently as well as with the team; Working well as a team in a congenial office; exceptional organizational skills. Experience with CourtAlert or other docketing programs is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.

Position is full-time, M-F with the possibility of some overtime. In-Person to start and transition to Hybrid 3x a week after three (3) months depending on progress.  Salary based on experience and includes an excellent benefit package.
