About the Role

Job Summary

    The Senior Project Control Manager oversees and manages the project controls function within an organization, ensuring effective monitoring, analysis, and management of project performance metrics such as schedule, cost, and quality. This role involves developing and implementing project controls strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as providing leadership and guidance to project controls teams. The Senior Project Controls Manager works closely with project managers, stakeholders, and functional leads to establish project baselines, identify risks and opportunities, and drive project success through informed decision-making and proactive risk management. Additionally, they are responsible for preparing regular project controls reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders, facilitating communication and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Overall, the job purpose of a Senior Project Controls Manager is to optimize project performance, mitigate risks, and ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.

Job Responsibilities 1

    Develop and implement project controls strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective monitoring and management of project performance.

    Oversee the establishment of project baselines, including schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.

    Lead the project controls team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of project controls activities.

    Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance indicators, analyzing variances and identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.

    Collaborate with project managers and functional leads to develop mitigation strategies for identified risks and implement corrective actions as needed.

    Prepare regular project controls reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key issues, trends, and recommendations.

    Coordinate with finance, procurement, and contracts management teams to ensure alignment of project controls activities with organizational objectives and policies.

    Conduct project controls audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of controls processes and identify areas for enhancement.

    Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in project controls, incorporating relevant methodologies and tools to improve project outcomes.

    Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the project controls team and across the organization.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in project management methodologies and cost control techniques.

Strong analytical skills to interpret project cost data and identify trends and patterns.

Advanced knowledge of cost estimation and budgeting principles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

Ability to leverage technology and software tools for efficient cost tracking and reporting.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
