About the Role

GBR Corporation is a Best of the Best, Inner Circle of Quality award winning Amrize Master Contractor dedicated to providing quality new and replacement commercial roofing services throughout south central Wisconsin. GBR Corporation is currently seeking candidates with a Class A CDL to join our team as a Fleet & Shop Manager.


The Fleet & Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily construction shop operations, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, coordinating deliveries, and supervising CDL drivers. This role requires strong mechanical skills, leadership ability, and hands-on involvement in transportation and logistics to ensure safe, efficient, and timely operations. 

 

FLEET & SHOP MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES 


CDL Driver Oversight

  • Support CDL drivers in daily operations.
  • Ensure drivers comply with company safety policies, DOT, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Conduct or assist with vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to drivers.
  • Promote safe driving practices and professionalism at all times.

  

Transportation & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with jobsite foremen to ensure efficient transportation of equipment and materials to jobsites.
  • Manage delivery intake including unloading semi-trailers with the use of a forklift.
  • Assist with loading, securing, and unloading vehicles and materials.
  • Deliver materials and equipment to construction jobsites.
  • Pick-up semi-loads of materials from vendors.
  • Haul roll off dumpster trailers to dispose of construction waste materials.
  • Manage shop inventory and notify project managers when supplies are low.

  

Shop & Mechanical Operations

  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in safe operating condition and comply with DOT regulations
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on company trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and manage repair priorities to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate off-site repairs with mechanic, tire and inspection vendors.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Track maintenance records, inspections, and repair documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL driver's license.
  • Proven experience with fleet management and vehicle maintenance.
  • Experienced in use of a forklift.
  • Small engine repair experience a plus.
