About the Role

Description

The Payroll Compliance Administrator is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliant timekeeping practices across the organization. This role plays a critical part in maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, company policies, and internal controls while supporting employees and management with payroll- and time-related inquiries.

  • Administer and maintain payroll and timekeeping systems to ensure accurate employee pay and attendance records
  • Review and verify employee timesheets; resolve discrepancies by working directly with department managers and supervisors
  • Manage time-keeping system by performing daily and weekly audits of employee inputs
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, employee information changes, and location transfers
  • Process employee reimbursements, bonuses, and timekeeping reports on a weekly basis
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance and management on employee changes (hires, terminations, promotions, leave of absence)
  • Prepare, compile, and distribute payroll-related reports as needed
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll and timekeeping inquiries from managers and employees
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Perform accounting tasks related to payroll, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and distribute year-end W-2 statements in accordance with legal requirements
  • Assist with other payroll or accounting projects assigned

Requirements

Proven experience in payroll administration or a related accounting function

Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements

Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of Paylocity payroll is a plus

Knowledge of Busybusy Timekeeping software a plus
