Operates hardware insertion equipment to install fasteners in metal plates, extrusions, flat sheet metal, structural shapes, and/or weldments as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.
Job Funtions:
· Lifts and positions work piece between mandrel and anvil manually.
· Starts machine to lower ram and secures hardware in place.
· Selects correct fastener from designated bin and places in required location on part.
· Loads and operates automatic feeding equipment per instruction on blueprint.
· Visually inspects or uses gauges on parts to verify conformance.
· Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality records.
· Records job activities utilizing data collection system including counts.
· Maintains accurate counts of parts; attaches labels or tags to finished part containers identifying customer, part number, and quantity and shop order information.
· Utilizes the data collection system to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced and any rejected parts.
· Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate job activities.
· Follows all safety procedures and wears safety equipment or apparel as required.
· Performs all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards.
· Ensures on a daily basis that the work area is clean and orderly including machine, tooling and workstation.
Requirements
· Prior hardware insertion equipment experience (Haeger, preferred)
· Good leadership, organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
· Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time
· Ability to communicate with others; accommodation as required to listen to equipment and monitor paging system
· Accommodation as required for reading documents, prints, computer screens, and quality instruments
Working Conditions:
Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Active work that primarily involves walking, standing, bending and lifting.
