About the Role

Description

The Journeyman Plumber plays a critical role in delivering safe, code-compliant, and professional plumbing solutions during bathroom remodel installations. This role includes removing, relocating, or installing plumbing fixtures such as bathtubs, showers, valves, and drains. The Plumber will work closely with installation crews to ensure timely and high-quality remodels while maintaining safety and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities Plumbing Installations & Modifications:

  • Perform plumbing work for bathroom remodel projects, including tub-to-shower conversions, valve replacements, and drain relocations.
  • Install new water lines, drain, and shower fixtures as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed to code and in line with company quality standards.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Follow all applicable plumbing codes, safety protocols, and permitting requirements.
  • Conduct pressure testing and system checks to ensure the integrity and functionality of plumbing work.
  • Communicate with inspectors or permit officials as required.

Project Coordination & Efficiency:

  • Collaborate with the Installation Manager and Lead Installers to maintain project timelines and reduce delays.
  • Review work orders and scope of work before beginning each project to ensure preparedness.
  • Identify and report any issues or additional work needed before continuing with the installation.

Customer Service:

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers regarding plumbing needs or changes.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Expo Home Improvement’s values in customer homes.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized during and after the installation.

Requirements


  • Valid plumbing license or certification in the state of Texas
  • 3+ years of residential plumbing experience
  • Strong understanding of residential plumbing codes and installation practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Must have own tools and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, crawl under houses, and work in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable standing, kneeling, or bending for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work indoors in varying home conditions and environments.

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role working in customer homes.
  • Travel required to job sites within assigned region.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on workload.
