We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician I to join our laboratory team in Reading, PA.
In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.
What You’ll Do
- Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff
- Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines
- Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system
- Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
- Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols
- Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required
- Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in alignment with company standards and safety requirements
- Complete assigned tasks within established timelines while upholding accuracy, quality, and procedural standards
- Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and training provided
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
- Prior laboratory, sample handling, or regulated work environment experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail with effective organizational and time-management skills

Work Schedule & Travel
- Full-time, onsite position following a standard Monday through Friday schedule
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including evenings or weekends, as operational needs require
