Description

Job Summary
The Life Skills Coach plays a crucial role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence and enhance their quality of life. This position involves working closely with clients to develop essential life skills. You’ll be part of a caring team that values respect, compassion, and empowerment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to clients in developing daily living skills and achieving personal goals.
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Facilitate social skills development through structured activities and community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate data collection on client progress and report findings to appropriate team members.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Provide transportation for clients as needed, ensuring their safety during outings.
  • Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

Skills

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for building rapport with clients and their families.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and experience in behavior management techniques are important for this role.
  • Home & community care experience is valuable for providing support to clients.
  • Ability to drive safely and responsibly is required for transporting clients as part of the job responsibilities.

  • Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current and Valid Driver’s License
  • Safe insured/ registered vehicle
