The HR Generalist supports employees and leaders across the organization while managing core HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, and employee support. This role helps foster a positive employee experience and ensures HR processes are delivered accurately and in compliance with company policies.
Compensation: $85,000-$125,000/year depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee records, HR files, and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Monitor and track HR compliance requirements across all business locations; proactively identify risks, gaps, or upcoming needs and communicate updates to the HR Director.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and applicants regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices; escalate complex issues to senior HR leadership as appropriate.
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, and offer process support.
- Track candidate progress within the HRIS/ATS, ensure timely follow-up with applicants, and maintain accurate recruitment documentation.
- Partner with hiring managers and department leaders to review, update, and maintain job descriptions to ensure alignment with organizational needs and evolving roles.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation, orientation coordination, system access requests, exit paperwork, and exit interview support.
- Process and maintain documentation related to employee changes, including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and job classification updates.
- Support the performance management process, including preparation of review materials, tracking completion, and maintaining performance documentation.
- Assist in the planning and execution of HR programs and events such as benefits open enrollment, employee engagement initiatives, recognition events, company meetings, and retirement celebrations.
- Prepare, proofread, and distribute HR communications, such as employee letters, announcements, internal newsletters, and policy updates.
- Perform additional HR-related duties and projects assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in Human Resources, including support for recruiting and talent acquisition activities.
- Working knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS and/or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general HR systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
