Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, is seeking an OTR Technician to perform emergency and scheduled tire and tire-related services according to customer needs at the commercial service facility or on the road.
Responsibilities:
- Mounts, demounts, balances, wheel changes, and flat repairs on OTR tires and wheels as specified by the customer. Responsible for proper cribbing, jacking and securing vehicles and proper torque of all fasteners.
- Operates an OTR Boom Truck to perform road service. Emergency Road Service occurs both during the day and at night.
- Organizes the work site, the vehicles and the appropriate tools (as outlined on the Service Truck Tool List) and equipment for optimum job efficiency and safety.
- Works safely at all time, according to standards and policies of MSHA, OSHA, TIA and DOT, and complies with company standards and policies regarding safety and efficient performance of services.
- Follows established procedures to inspect tires, vehicles and equipment before and after service, and notes other needed services; makes recommendations to customer.
- Documents work performed accurately and according to company policy.
- Provides highest level of customer satisfaction to establish long term customer relationships and enhance company reputation.
- Operates company vehicles safely and according to company policies and procedures, and follows all federal, state and local laws regarding vehicle operations and safety.
- Inspects service truck daily, and keeps truck and work areas clean, organized, and well maintained, and uses all company property, vehicles, facilities, tools or equipment properly; notifies manager of need for repairs and maintenance, etc.
- Performs and/or instructs other service-related duties such as wheel refurbishment and painting, tire foam fill, tire/casing receiving, moving and loading.
- Performs other shop activities as assigned by the Commercial Facility Manager.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma with 2 years of tire service experience.
- Prior experience operating OTR Boom Truck.
- TIA and ETS certification required.
- Ability to lift 125 lbs.
- Valid Driver’s License – (CDL license preferred) with DOT medical card required.
