A Typical Day at (School Name)

As a PCT Instructor, you will guide and support students through hands-on clinical training and classroom instruction. You will foster a positive learning environment, promote professionalism, and prepare students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in patient care roles.

  • Instruct students in patient care skills and clinical procedures
  • Teach students how to collect, monitor, and document vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data
  • Train students to assist with patient hygiene, personal care, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Guide students in assisting with medical procedures and diagnostic testing
  • Instruct on technical skills including EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection
  • Teach safe patient mobility, ambulation, and transfer techniques
  • Emphasize infection control, safety standards, and clinical best practices
  • Provide instruction on medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology
  • Promote ethical behavior, professionalism, and HIPAA compliance
  • Foster effective communication skills and teamwork within healthcare environments

Requirements

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant field experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Authorized to work in the US

Preferred but not required: 

  • Previous teaching experience
  • Certificate in Patient Care Technician.
