Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting

<p>Scale AI is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting to join our growing accounting team. This individual will be exposed to new accounting standards and advanced accounting research topics on complex transactions that will allow for continued learning and development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environment.</p> <p>We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player who is passionate about delivering quality results.</p> <p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Analyze and operationalize complex transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including those related to stock-based compensation, business combinations, leases, capitalized software, and equity.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders throughout the organization (e.g., legal, finance, corporate accounting) and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, valuation specialists).</li> <li>Develop and maintain Scale’s accounting policies in alignment with U.S. GAAP and evolving business needs.</li> <li>Prepare consolidated financial statements and related footnotes for audit.</li> <li>Support monthly accounting process, including preparation or review of journal entries related to technical accounting transactions.</li> <li>Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Ideally you’d have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting; CPA required.</li> <li>5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting (or a combination of public accounting and private industry experience); Big 4 experience preferred.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements, including the ability to research and apply technical guidance.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Proven ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly.</li> <li>Experience developing and operationalizing accounting policies and procedures.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to haves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.</li> <li>Experience with our key systems (NetSuite, Workiva).</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><em>Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits.
