Description
Empowering our community to alleviate hunger and improve health.
That’s our mission. How will you drive it? You’ll need to be an experienced Registered Dietitian with innovative ideas and thrive in a “Yes, and” environment. As the Ready to Nourish Dietitian, you’ll champion a movement that empowers partners to make nutrition-focused, retail-like markets the norm. You will guide partners through the Ready to Nourish™ Certified process, help them implement evidence-based practices, and participate in a bold regional strategy to make the healthy choice the easy choice. You’ll drive program adoption, influence decision-makers, and expand partnerships with healthcare systems, community organizations, and Tarrant Area Food Bank’s partner agency network to transform how communities access nutritious food.
Where YOU make the impact…
· Lead engagement by presenting the Ready to Nourish™ value proposition to partner agencies, healthcare partners, and community leaders.
· Drive program expansion by identifying, cultivating, and onboarding new partner agencies ready for transformation.
· Activate Ready to Nourish Certified markets by guiding partner agencies through baseline assessments, training, nutrition policy implementation, Supporting Wellness at Pantries (SWAP)/Healthy Eating Research (HER) nudges, and environment changes.
· Serve as a consultative expert who motivates partners to adopt and sustain nutrition-focused practices that result in measurable health and food security improvements.
· Deliver compelling presentations that inspire partners to join a proven, cost-effective solution for improving community health.
· Track progress and outcomes, translating data into impact stories that reinforce continued partnership.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Community Resources, Agency Services, Operations, Garden & Farms, and Community Kitchen teams to ensure seamless implementation and increased partner success.
· Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
· Don’t forget to exemplify TAFB’s Core Values of Lead, Care, Innovate and Respect.
· May serve as preceptor for various student interns and perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed!
· Registered Dietitian with 5+ years of experience and a natural ability to lead, influence, and activate change.
· Demonstrated success building partnerships, ideally in healthcare, nonprofit, or community-based settings, with the confidence to motivate, persuade, and move projects forward.
· Strong initiative with a sales-or consultative-mindset: you take ownership, pursue opportunities, and aren’t afraid to make the ask. Comfortable balancing strategic relationship development with hands-on program execution in the field.
· Experience overseeing projects and/or programs.
· Excellence in written and verbal communication, including experience with group nutrition education and “train the trainer.” You can tailor your message, connect with diverse audiences, and present complex concepts with confidence.
· Bilingual Spanish highly valuable.
· Comfortable with data, metrics, use of dashboards, and translating results to compelling impact narratives.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Why this role matters:
· You’ll play a pivotal role in a regional initiative that spans 13 counties and more than 500 partner agencies.
· Through your leadership, partners will implement evidence-based strategies proven to increase nutritious food access, improve health outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs. You will directly influence how thousands of neighbors experience food, health, and dignity.
Success looks like:
· Growing the number of Ready to Nourish™ Certified agencies
· Increasing partner adoption of nutrition nudges (SWAP/HER)
· Boosting nutritious food distribution
· Facilitating measurable improvements in partner market environments
· Building strong, sustained partner relationships
· Program sustainability by leading partners through successful reassessments
· Increasing wrap-around service referrals (e.g., Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) referrals)
· Improving neighbor feedback scores on market quality and nutrition supports
A day in the life:
· You’ll typically split your time at our main campus and out in the community with occasional work in our Distribution Center and with off-site partners.
· You will find yourself frequently standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
· You may also find yourself doing some travel, and we offer mileage reimbursement.
· You’ll need to be okay with work schedule flexibility with occasional weekend and evening availability.
