About the Role

Description

 We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Manager to lead a well-established and growing team in the manufacturing of electrical cable and harness assemblies. This role is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and delivery schedules are maintained. As a member of the site leaders and a key contributor to the operations team, this role emphasizes planning, scheduling, team coordination, and process execution.

 

The ideal candidate brings substantial experience managing production environments. This role will lead shop floor activities, monitors performance, ensures compliance with standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD, and drives continuous improvement in alignment with cultural values of Accountability, Collaboration, and Empowerment (ACE).

  

Key Responsibilities:


Production Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize production plans, tasks, and shipment schedules using SAP Business One
  • Lead daily production meetings and assign tasks to team members accordingly
  • Capacity planning of production staff and equipment using advanced planning modules in SAP.
  • Manage site production staff ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
  • Approve Timecards and Time Off Requests in HRIS (Paylocity)
  • Monitor labor and material usage to control costs and optimize output
  • Support training and development of team members to ensure readiness and productivity
  • Collaborate with Sales, Quality, and Engineering at daily MRB meeting to validate non-conformance
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with manufacturing standards
  • Maintain 5S principles in all production areas, to ensure a clean and organized workspace
  • Track key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, scrap rates, and efficiency metrics
  • Responsible for FPY KPIs and reduction of issues from the production floor to quality
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and meet customer expectations
  • Recommend improvements in workflow, staffing, and processes to improve performance

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage team development based on the ARXIS ACE (Accountability, Collaboration, and Empowerment) model.
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors, leads, and operators
  • Identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively
  • Operate within a high-accountability, high-recognition team culture
  • Conduct formal annual, mid-year performance reviews including quarterly follow-ups
  • Participate in the hiring and onboarding process with the General Manager
  • Ensure all operators are trained and equipped prior to production; provide ongoing mentorship during builds

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to reduce waste, downtime, and cost
  • Drive improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety, including capital equipment recommendations

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with other departments and team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
  • Lead weekly backlog meetings and collaborate on production planning and priorities
  • Collaborate with Product Manager on customer weekly reporting of status of deliveries  

Reporting & Metrics

  • Track and report key KPIs including efficiency, scrap rates, downtime, and on-time delivery

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to OSHA and internal safety guidelines
  • Ensure operators review SDS documents prior to using hazardous materials on assemblies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a production or operations leadership role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in electrical cable and harness assembly production preferred
  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD standards preferred
  • Production planning tools and ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred)
  • Lean manufacturing and 5S workplace organization principles
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS (OPTIONAL)

  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • OSHA Certification

REQUIRED SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment:

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English. 
  • Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Frequent presence on the production floor; ability to stand, walk, and observe assembly processes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Requires occasional evening or weekend work depending on production schedule
