Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Trainer at Gifthealth is responsible for designing, implementing, and conducting training programs for pharmacy technicians. This role focuses on ensuring that all pharmacy technicians are proficient in their duties, adhere to company standards, and comply with regulatory requirements. The Pharmacy Technician Trainer will also provide ongoing education and support to foster continuous improvement and professional development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct training sessions for pharmacy technicians and Production Associates focusing on areas such as medication dispensing, customer service, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Create, review, and update training materials and manuals to keep pace with industry changes and best practices.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using assessments and feedback mechanisms, and modify programs as needed to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Mentor and support pharmacy technicians through their certification process and continuing education.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy management to identify training needs and align training initiatives with business goals.
  • Maintain records of training activities and monitor the progress of trainees.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Licensure/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification 
  • Strong instructional skills with a proven ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in curriculum development and training delivery in a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; additional certification in training (such as CTT+ or similar) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Pharmacy, or related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacy work, with a focus on education or training.

Work Environment

  • Location: On-site 
  • Schedule: Full-time 
  • May require additional availability or flexibility for escalations.
  • Regular meetings with your teams, departments, or leadership to ensure alignment.

Key Essential Functions

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 4 hours at a time while conducting training and observing workflow.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds (training materials, medication totes, equipment).
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift, including bending, reaching, lifting, scanning, and computer-based documentation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate pharmacy technician tasks, including use of pharmacy systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to work onsite for all scheduled shifts to support hands-on training.
