About the Role

Description

Therapeutic Residence for Youth ages 11-18 years of age is seeking a food service specialist to prepare and provide meals to the children.

  • The position is responsible for all meal preparation, shopping, and coordinating of menus and organizing and rotating food. Prepare all meals ensuring all meals are nutritionally balanced.
  • Work with dietitian for menu planning.
  • Maintain the inventory of all food and household supplies.
  • Receive and maintain certification in safe food handling.
  • Teach food preparation living skills to residents once weekly. Store leftovers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Organize the kitchen to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Clean up after meals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous experience in food services preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification Required.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s population.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier.


Part-time, 30 hours/week with benefits, including medical benefits.
