Founded in 1950, Alaska Mill & Feed has proudly served Alaska’s farmers, ranchers, and pet owners for decades, delivering high-quality feed products and supplies to communities across the state. We are a locally focused manufacturing & distribution team that values teamwork, craftsmanship and reliability.


We’re hiring a dependable, detail-oriented, and highly organized Order Picker to join our Pet Food Wholesale Warehouse team. In this role, you’ll work independently to accurately pull products and fulfill orders for both wholesale and retail customers. You’ll use strong organizational skills to unload and put away freight in a way that keeps the warehouse orderly and easy to navigate.

This position is ideal for an energetic, self-motivated team player who communicates well, maintains a positive and upbeat attitude, and takes pride in ensuring customers receive accurate, error-free orders. 

  

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Accurately complete customer orders by prioritizing, picking, and building orders.
  • · Safely operate manual and powered equipment when loading and unloading freight
  • Maintain inventory by monitoring, rotating, and binning products using standardized      processes
  • Consistently manage orders and paperwork using a methodical approach.
  • Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to the diverse products carried
  • Perform daily warehouse maintenance to maintain a clean, safe work environment and equipment in compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information      with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a large warehouse environment with strong knowledge of warehouse practices.
  • Demonstrates initiative by working independently and proactively completing tasks.
  • Forklift  certified with hands-on operating experience.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively—verbally and in writing—with co-workers and customers.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Proven track record of being safe, dependable, and reliable. 

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, typically Monday – Friday (schedule may vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.


COMPENSATION 

$21.00 - $23.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements.
