- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, work assignment, and performance management.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for advanced maintenance issues, providing direct guidance and hands-on support to maintenance personnel.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and leads to prioritize maintenance needs and reduce disruptions to workflow.
- Direct and oversee installation, setup, repair, and modification of production equipment, tooling, and material handling systems.
- Support inspection, maintenance, and safe operation of overhead cranes, JIB cranes, hoists, and lifting devices, including coordination of required inspections and corrective actions.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate project work, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Research, recommend, and order maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts; manage spare parts and tooling inventory.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify wear, safety concerns, or reliability risks and address them proactively.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and service providers for specialized repairs, crane inspections, HVAC, electrical work, landscaping, cleaning, and snow removal.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and manufacturer requirements; actively participate in safety meetings and safety improvement initiatives.
- Perform housekeeping audits and ensure shop and facility standards are consistently met.
- Train, mentor, and coach maintenance employees on equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, crane safety, lockout/tagout, and preventive maintenance best practices.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year technical school in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a skilled trade; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on industry experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience required; prior supervisory or lead maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
