Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for all incoming & outgoing shipments, warehouse organization, cleanliness, efficiencies while following all corporate ‘safe practices’. Delivers and picks up items as needed. Prepares items for shipment, ensures accuracy, completeness, condition of shipments and proper packaging. Performs warehouse purchasing, invoicing and delinquent order follow up as needed.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, AUTHORITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

WAREHOUSE/SHIPPING & RECEIVING:

  • Adequately wraps & packages fragile equipment and instruments for safe and secure shipment.
  • Physically receive all items (new, used, service, and non-inventory), warehouse items, assign bin location(s), and enter item location(s) into SAGE100.
  • Bill outgoing shipments (except service and capital) in SAGE100.
  • Enter authorized credit card purchases into SAGE100.
  • Enter material requisitions, inventory transactions, and warehouse transfers into SAGE100.
  • Print picking sheet(s), pack item(s) and calculate freight charge(s).
  • Proficient in the operation of a pallet jack and forklift for loading/unloading equipment/supplies from common carriers.
  • Maintain working knowledge of UPS, FED-EX and Motor Carrier shipping rules and regulations.
  • Routine maintenance of inventory numbers, including but not limited to: bin locations, vendor part numbers, order positions, etc.
  • Periodic physical inventory and reconciliation.
  • Light building maintenance (i.e. change lightbulbs, shovel snow, take out trash and minor outside clean-up).
  • Cross-trained with other team members to provide back-up when needed.

DELIVERIES/PICKUPS:

  • Customer deliveries/pickups, as needed.
  • Maintenance of vehicle including washing and mopping out bed of old chemistry.
  • Schedule oil service before maximum mileage.
  • Keeping a log of mileage.
  • Inventory of film at customer’s site
  • Pump chemistry at customer’s site.
  • Ensure there is proper paperwork for anything that leaves the building
  • Load and unload truck as needed

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Order building, office, and shipping supplies.
  • Return items for credit when ordered in error.
  • Review freight bills and file claim(s) with freight companies.
  • Remains current on all training required by the Code of Federal Regulations related to HAZMAT.
  • Enter purchase orders into SAGE100 and fax/call vendor as needed. Check status when required.
  • Order all standard stock items, backordered items, and not-in-stock items (except capital equipment, services and commissions).
  • Print reorder report for assigned warehouses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) is required. SAGE100 experience is preferred. Valid Driver’s License required. Other skills/abilities include: excellent phone etiquette, ability to multi-task, customer service driven, teamwork oriented, professional, upbeat, energetic, takes initiative, dependable, takes pride in work. Detail-oriented (performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions). Must be competent in the operation of material handling. Knowledge of NDT material preferred.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years shipping and receiving experience required.

Moves, lifts, carries, loads or unloads heavy equipment or supplies with the use of forklift or overhead crane. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, MSDS sheets and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to the warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
