About the Role

At SPL, we’re powered by purpose, precision, and forward momentum. We’re searching for a motivated Gas Measurement Lead Technician to join our team in Greeley, CO. In this impact-driven role, you’ll take on increased responsibility as a key liaison for the Operations Manager, helping maintain customer satisfaction and supporting the success of our field technicians. What You’ll Do

  • Perform gas measurement services both onshore and offshore using a company vehicle or via helicopter, boat, or seaplane;
  • Prepare accurate documentation and service reports for all completed work;
  • Identify and work with various gas measurement equipment and terminology;
  • Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain primary and secondary measurement devices;
  • Conduct multi-point verification and orifice plate inspections;
  • Troubleshoot gas measurement systems and correct issues as needed;
  • Review and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and calibration reports;
  • Procure spot or composite gas samples and transport hazardous/nonhazardous materials;
  • Witness allocation and custody transfer calibrations;
  • Train and mentor new employees on primary tasks and responsibilities;
  • Approve time cards and audit field calibration data and schedules;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education;
  • 3-5 years of gas measurement experience;
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and perform primary tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems;
  • Advanced knowledge of AGA/GPA/API Measurement Guidelines and regulatory standards (BLM, COGCC);
  • Proficiency using multiple calibration software programs;
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with gas measurement systems including but not limited to identifying and correcting volume discrepancies and full measurement system compliance auditing;
  • Ability to easily locate industry standards and government regulations;
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Your Schedule and The Fine Print

  • Full-time position;
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed to support business priorities and deadlines;
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and/or inclement temperatures;
  • Flexibility to stay overnight out-of-town or offshore when required.
