If you are hired, you will...

  • Welcome and greet customers when entering or leaving the deli department.
  • Answer customer questions, help locate items, and provide recommendations.
  • Train employees in food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain inventory levels of food and nonfood items such as paper goods, condiments, and cleaning supplies.
  • Schedule shifts, hiring staff members, interviewing new candidates, and training new hires.
  • Communicate with suppliers to coordinate product deliveries and monitor inventory levels.
  • Oversee daily food preparation activities including slicing meats, wrapping sandwiches, and preparing salads.
  • Ensure that all food products are stored at appropriate temperatures to prevent spoilage or contamination.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, maintaining records of employees’ hours worked, and scheduling shifts.
  • Control labor costs by monitoring employee timecards and payroll records.
  • Manage the operations of a deli counter, including ordering inventory and setting prices on items sold.
  • Fill in for the Deli Manager in case of their absence as needed.
  • Perform other duties to ensure the overall success of our company.
