Island Hospitality Management is currently seeking a Director of Data Applications to lead the strategic direction, delivery, and optimization of our enterprise-wide data and application ecosystem. This role oversees the platforms and teams that power our company’s data management, business applications, and technology enablement.
As a key technology leader, you will be accountable for the planning, configuration, development, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications that serve our property teams, corporate functions, ownership partners, and other critical stakeholders. You will guide the evolution of our data platforms and ensure they are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Responsible for the strategic and enterprise wide management of application platforms including ProfitSword, JD Edwards, iBE, Paylocity and AvidXchange.
- Provide support and management for internal platforms including Island Keys and other platform applications.
- Deliver systems and data and that will grow the company’s capacity to use and benefit from technology while controlling costs.
- Define and execute a strategy that both stabilizes the existing applications environment and provides a scalable foundation to support on-going business growth.
- Implement and maintain enterprise application roadmaps, including priorities, resource capacity planning, and timelines to support short and longer-term planning with recommendations for advancement.
- Oversee the implementation, ongoing use and maintenance of all applications; including functionality and decision-making, by working closely with department heads to define, evaluate and optimize business processes and integrate processes across applications.
- Provide thought leadership and innovation to enable and develop forward looking automation solutions that may include IoT (Internet of Things) and AI technologies
- Serve as the company liaison between key departments including, but not limited to, Accounting, Operations, Internal Audit, Sales, Human Resources and Purchasing, synchronizing business functions dependent on enterprise applications and determine current and future technology needs.
- Oversee team focused on business intelligence and innovation.
- Lead team through internal and external impacts for new initiatives and current platforms.
- Serve as in-person escalation point to identify and suggest approaches to resolve platform issues.
- Ensure that platform issues get closed in an efficient and consistent manner.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, supporting, and integrating best practices and platform standards across the organization.
- Provide strong leadership and proactive coaching as a team leader through mentoring, career development, interpersonal skills and teamwork ethic.
- Develop benefit/cost analysis for applications and system development projects as needed.
- Deliver an excellent support experience to internal and external clients.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data platform management and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused in platform management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey platform information to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in team management and development.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, ProfitSword, JD Edwards, ADP, Paylocity and AvidXchange preferred.
- Strong understanding of industry-specific financial regulations and best practices.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
