<p>Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.</p> <p>We are looking for a Facilities Lab Technician, who will be responsible for the continuous operation, maintenance, and safety of our laboratory environments. This role ensures that all lab utilities, equipment, and&nbsp;safety systems function within specified parameters to support uninterrupted Robot research.&nbsp;You will act as the bridge between general building maintenance and specialized laboratory&nbsp;requirements.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Technical Operations &amp; Maintenance</p> <ul> <li>Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab equipment</li> <li>Monitor and maintain critical utilities , compressed air, Chilled water, and specialty gas<br>manifolds. (Argon/Nitrogen)</li> <li>Oversee HVAC performance, ensuring proper air change rates, pressure differentials,<br>and temperature/humidity control.</li> <li>Coordinate with external vendors for specialized equipment calibrations and repairs.</li> </ul> <p>Safety &amp; Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a point of contact for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols.</li> <li>Manage the inventory, labeling, and removal of hazardous, chemical, and<br>biohazardous waste&nbsp;</li> <li>Conduct weekly inspections of emergency stations (eyewash, safety showers) and<br>chemical storage areas.</li> <li>Maintain meticulous documentation and logs to ensure audit readiness (FDA, ISO, or<br>OSHA standards).</li> </ul> <p>Lab Logistics</p> <ul> <li>Manage the layout and installation of new lab equipment, ensuring proper power and<br>utility hookups.</li> <li>Maintain an inventory of spare parts and consumables for facility-related hardware.</li> </ul> <p>Qualifications &amp; Skills</p> <ul> <li>Education: Associate’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Mechanical Systems) or<br>a Life Science degree with strong mechanical aptitude.</li> <li>Experience: 2–5 years in a laboratory, clinical, or highly regulated manufacturing<br>environment.</li> <li>Technical Proficiency:<br>○Familiarity with GLP/GMP (Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices).<br>○Ability to read blueprints, P&amp;IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and<br>electrical schematics.<br>○Experience using CMMS software (e.g., Blue Mountain, Maintenance<br>Connection).</li> <li>Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces<br>or around hazardous materials (with proper PPE).</li> </ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>The "Fixer" Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying potential failures before they<br>happen.</li> <li>Communication: Ability to explain technical and mechanical issues to non-technical scientific staff.</li> <li>Reliability: Willingness to participate in an "on-call" rotation for emergency facility alarms.</li> </ul> <p>The US base hourly range for this full-time position is between $35 – $45.</p> <p>The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.</p>
