We are looking for a Purchasing Engineer to join a collaborative expert team where everyone has their own area of expertise and supports each other to succeed. In this role, you will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring the timely availability of goods and materials while contributing with your technical insight, especially related to drawings or welding-related components.
This is a fixed-term position until the end of 2026, with good opportunities for continuation depending on business needs and performance.
This position can be located our office either in Vantaa, Tampere or Jyväskylä in Finland.
Your responsibilities
- Execute procurement activities for assigned categories and suppliers, from ordering to delivery follow-up
- Ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met for purchased parts and materials
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and quality teams to support sourcing and technical clarification
- Maintain pricing, supplier data, and items in the ERP system
- Contribute your technical expertise when reviewing drawings or specifications, particularly related to welding or manufactured components
Expectations for you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, commercial, or suitable field
- 4+ years’ experience in similar role in procurement, sourcing, or a technical/industrial role
- Ability to work independently and manage your own area of responsibility
- Excellent analytical skills & ability to run with fact-based decisions
- Technical understanding of drawings and/or welding-related manufacturing
- Experience from operating in ERP Systems (previous experience using Infor LN is an advantage)
- Fluent communication skills in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
- Ability to work and perform well under pressure with tight deadlines
