Job Description:

As a Field Technician at HRP, you’ll support environmental, health, and safety projects by conducting fieldwork, collecting samples, performing inspections, and assisting project teams with data collection and documentation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys active, hands-on work and wants to gain experience in environmental consulting while working alongside experienced scientists and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, and air
  • Assist with environmental site assessments and remediation activities
  • Perform field inspections, equipment setup, and maintenance
  • Collect, record, and organize field data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain field logs, chain-of-custody forms, and documentation
  • Operate and maintain field instruments and monitoring equipment
  • Support project managers and technical staff during field and office tasks
  • Follow HRP’s health and safety protocols to ensure safe work practices

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; associate degree or coursework in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field is a plus
  • Interest in environmental fieldwork, sampling, or environmental compliance
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to lift equipment and perform physically active tasks
  • Travel to job sites, including occasional overnight travel for up to a week at a time
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Previous field experience is helpful but not required — HRP provides training
