About the Role

Description

The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling and inspecting Lagoon property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, employee/guest injury, illegal activity and/or inappropriate guest/employee activity in accordance with company policies and procedures. Security Officers will also assist in directing vehicles in parking areas, directing traffic, and assisting guests wherever possible. The Security Division is directly involved in loss prevention. Security Officers carry a two way radio at all times while on duty. The Security Officer must respond promptly and efficiently to any situation.

This position is seasonal. Seasonal employees perform their work at certain seasons and periods of the year. Their work, by its nature, is not continuous nor is it carried on throughout the year. A seasonal employee who is employed at the conclusion of the season will be terminated.

Requirements

  • Applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. Security Officers must also have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to make quick and effective decisions and to take control of stressful or volatile situations calmly, patiently, and in a professional manner.
  • Able to interact with guests in a friendly, but firm manner to provide for a good guest experience and enforce safety rules.
  • Able to write legibly to complete reports.
  • Able to stand and/or walk for up to eight (8) hours.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to perform work duties outdoors in varying weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Requires occasional early arrivals and/or late night departures.
