If your pet is hospitalized you are always welcome to visit during hospital hours. If your pet needs to be taken to the treatment room during an appointment, you may come right along with them! About the Role
<p>At <strong>Animal Care Hospital of Walnut Creek</strong>, we are a passionate, high-quality animal hospital committed to top-tier veterinary care and outstanding client experience. We’re looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant who wants more than “just a job” — we want someone excited to grow, learn, and join a collaborative team that truly supports you.</p>
<p><strong>Salary: </strong>$20-$33/hr. based on experience and skill set.</p>
<p><strong>Schedule: </strong>Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 4x10 hour shifts</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries</li>
<li>Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately</li>
<li>Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces</li>
<li>Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples</li>
<li>Support dental and surgical procedures <em>(training provided)</em></li>
<li>Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian</li>
<li>Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed</li>
<li>Maintain accurate medical records</li>
<li>Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits</li>
<li>Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar animal‑care role</li>
<li>Strong handling skills and comfort working in a clinical environment</li>
<li>Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills</li>
<li>Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy setting</li>
<li>Willingness to learn new skills and participate in continuing education</li>
<li>Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weight, and handle animals safely</li>
