Sewing & Production Quality Lead
Pay: $17–$20 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: Gastonia, NC
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Production / QA Lead with strong sewing experience to support daily manufacturing operations and ensure products meet quality standards. This role works directly on the production floor and requires advanced sewing skills, a strong eye for quality, and the ability to guide and support other sewing operators.
The Production / QA Lead must be willing to assist in all aspects of the fabrication process, including sewing as a primary function, as well as assembly and machine operation as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support sewing and production associates in assigned area
- Serve as a technical sewing resource for troubleshooting and quality issues
- Train, mentor, and cross-train associates. Specifically focusing on proper techniques and workmanship in sewing
- Perform sewing operations daily while supporting production flow
- Assist in all areas of fabrication, including assembly and machine operation
- Perform quality checks including First Articles and non-conformance monitoring
- Support corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
- Communicate customer requirements with sales and customer service
- Assist with new product introductions
- Promote safety and quality standards
Requirements
Qualifications
- Strong industrial or commercial sewing experience required
- Manufacturing or machine operating experience
- Ability to consistently meet quality and workmanship standards
- 1–2 years in a lead or developing lead role preferred
- Basic quality assurance knowledge
- Ability to read blueprints and measure to 1/16"
- Basic math skills (fractions and measurements)
- Strong communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, kneel as needed
- Lift up to 25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally
