About the Role

About The Role - Te mahi

We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our team of room attendants and ensure we provide excellent customer service.

Housekeeping Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for cleanliness.

To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of sanitation regulations and team management abilities. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills.

Ultimately, you will help ensure our daily housekeeping operations run smoothly and that guests are satisfied.

This is a full time role of 30 hours per week minimum, based at Sudima Kaikōura. Weekend availability is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee staff on a daily basis.
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
  • Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, productivity, tidiness and hygiene standards.
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
  • Respond to customer complaints and special requests.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
  • Assisting the room attendants when required.
  • Prepare all the rooms that need to be serviced for the room attendants.
  • Guide room attendants to set up equipment and trolleys according to procedures in the Housekeeping Manual.
  • Identify and access rooms for servicing according to procedure.
  • Clean equipment and rooms according to guest standards.
  • Check, replenish or replace room supplies and compendium materials in accordance with Housekeeping Manual.
  • Log in all maintenance issues to the system, reported by the room attendant or found by me.
  • Store equipment and chemicals in accordance with procedures in the Housekeeping Manual.
  • Prepare an End Of Day report at the end of the day to send to other departments.

  • Work experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
  • Excellent organizational and team management skills.
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Operational role and requires room attendant duties
  • Proven ability in leading a team.
  • Assist with training and developing the team to achieve company standards.
  • A high level of organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
