About the Role

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later).

At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. Our community, whom we call Divers, don’t just work—they dive deep, solve complex challenges, and make a real impact with global industry leaders. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas—they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

We’re looking for a Technical Program & Community Coordinator to partner with one of our clients. This role sits at the intersection of developer community engagement, technical program coordination, and internal team alignment.

This is a hands-on, coordination-first role for someone who is technically literate, highly organized, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. The value of this role comes from technical context, judgment, and follow-through - not administrative task execution.

Accountability

As a Technical Program & Community Coordinator, your success will be defined by your ability to capture and translate developer signal, support internal technical initiatives, and maintain clarity across teams. You’ll be accountable for ensuring developer feedback is surfaced accurately, technical workstreams move forward with momentum, and communication between developers, product, and engineering remains clear and actionable in a fast-changing environment.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Developer Community & User Engagement
  • Engage directly with developer users across social channels, forums, and other community touchpoints
  • Capture questions, feedback, and insights from users and surface them clearly to internal teams
  • Build a working understanding of the product through documentation review, hands-on usage, and community interaction
  • Act as a translator between developer needs and internal teams, ensuring feedback is understood and actionable
Technical Program & Project Coordination
  • Support internal technical initiatives by tracking progress, dependencies, and follow-ups across workstreams
  • Act as a point of accountability to ensure initiatives stay aligned to outcomes, not just task completion
  • Proactively communicate updates, blockers, and priority changes as work evolves
  • Maintain clarity and momentum in an environment with lightweight process and shifting requirements

Technical Literacy & Critical Thinking
  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of the company’s technology stack (e.g., Python, PostgreSQL, TypeScript)
  • Understand and reason through core technical concepts, including databases, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and engineering workflows
  • Ask clear, thoughtful questions to engineers and product leaders to resolve ambiguity and unblock progress
Colleagues

You’ll work closely with the client’s product, engineering, and developer-facing teams, helping ensure user feedback informs decisions and technical initiatives move forward smoothly.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from our Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Technical Program & Community Coordinator, your vertical strength will be technical coordination and developer community engagement, while your horizontal capabilities should include cross-team collaboration, program management, communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity in fast-moving environments.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Technical Comfort: Demonstrated ability to engage with developers and technical users
  • Technical Exposure: Experience with software concepts, databases, or developer tooling (hands-on or adjacent)
  • Coordination Strength: Strong organizational skills across multiple technical workstreams
  • Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication—direct, proactive, and precise
  • Ownership Mindset: Comfort operating independently as a “manager of one”
  • Startup Readiness: Ability to thrive in environments with ambiguity and shifting priorities

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Developer Engagement: How you interact with and understand technical users
  • Signal Translation: Turning user feedback into clear internal insights
  • Technical Reasoning: Your comfort navigating technical concepts and documentation
  • Program Coordination: How you track progress, manage dependencies, and maintain momentum
  • Operating in Ambiguity: Examples of moving work forward without perfect information

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
