Join the launch of something special! Our new pediatric practice is hiring for a compassionate, energetic, and motivated Lead Medical Assistant to help shape the patient experience from day one. POSITION SUMMARY:
This key role combines hands-on patient care with team leadership and workflow coordination to ensure an exceptional experience for our pediatric patients and their families. The Lead MA partners closely with providers and staff to support multidisciplinary care, optimize daily clinic operations, and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. As a role model and trusted resource, this position helps foster a positive, efficient, and patient-centered environment where both patients and team members can thrive.

- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, and staff.
- Escort and prepare patients for visits; obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies in the EHR.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and chart completion.
- Provide clear patient and family education regarding care plans and follow-up instructions.
- Lead and coordinate daily administrative workflow to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery.
- Serve as a liaison between providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support continuity of care.
- Monitor schedules, room utilization, and staffing needs to minimize delays and optimize productivity.
- Oversee follow-up processes, referrals, authorizations, and patient communications.
- Address patient concerns and escalate issues to management as appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Medical Assistants and other support staff.
- Support onboarding, training, and competency development for new and existing team members.
- Promote adherence to clinical protocols, workflows, and best practices.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model, demonstrating professionalism and clinical excellence.
- Monitor quality-of-care indicators and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Support implementation and maintenance of evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Conduct and document required safety, equipment, and quality checks.
- Oversee preparation, sanitation, and stocking of exam and treatment rooms.
- Manage clinical inventory, including medical supplies and vaccines.
- Maintain immunization records and state registry reporting.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and supply ordering.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
- Maintain accurate administrative and training records as required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Stay current with pediatric clinical standards, policies, and innovations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support practice operations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, required
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program, required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as a Certified Medical Assistant, required
- Current BLS certification, required
- Epic experience, preferred
- Pediatric experience, preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
