Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC) was founded in 1939 by a group of Coos County, Oregon, residents who wanted to provide electricity to residents in their rural service territory environment. At the time, the concept of community ownership meant local people working together to meet local needs. That concept or philosophy still guides everything we do today. Nearly 75 years later, this non-profit cooperative serves approximately 14,000 members with over 17,000 meters in Curry County and portions of Coos and Douglas Counties; and 1,634 miles of line, including 54 miles of transmission line between Gold Beach and Brookings. CCEC serves members in the rural areas east and south of Coos Bay in Coos County, a portion of Douglas County and all of Curry County except for the town of Langlois. About the Role
<h3>Primary Purpose</h3><p><br>Contact prospective Beacon Broadband customers through door-to-door communications or canvassing and other means. &nbsp;Sell the high-speed broadband experience using a consultative sales model.</p><h3>Essential Job Functions (Reason position exists is to perform these functions)</h3><p><br>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. As established by policy and procedures:&nbsp;</p><p>The Marketing Representative is responsible for growing Beacon Broadband revenues by acquiring new customers and selling new products to our customers. Through door-to-door canvassing and other outreach methods, the Marketing Representative meets with potential customers (both residential and commercial) to educate them on the future and benefits of Beacon Broadband&rsquo;s data, voice and advanced products. They will determine the appropriate solution to fit the needs of the customer through a consultative sales approach. &nbsp;Customer contacts for residential homes or businesses are made through assigned territories, appointments, open houses, local events, customer referrals, door-to-door canvasing, sales leads, and other methods.</p><p>Sales Responsibilities:</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Acquire new residential customers through door-to-door contact, communication, canvassing and other means in assigned areas</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Utilize consultative selling approach with new prospective customers</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Present sales presentations/proposals on Beacon Broadband&rsquo;s products and services that meet the customer&rsquo;s needs</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Accurately complete all paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines, including but not limited to entering sales orders, tracking performance and reporting on sales</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Achieve monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, phone and advanced products</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Stay well-informed about competitors&rsquo; pricing and door-to-door tactics</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Actively support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Contact commercial establishments as assigned</p><p>Knowledge and Abilities</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to work independently without constant supervision</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Valid Oregon driver&rsquo;s license, auto insurance, satisfactory driving record and the use of a reliable personal vehicle</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Familiarity with computers, software applications, smart phones, PDAs, routers, modems and Windows devices</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to travel within the Beacon Broadband footprint. This includes during inclement weather conditions to and from assigned territories and company facilities.</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; A passion to meet both personal and company goals</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to listen, formulate consultative sales strategies, and articulate presentations to sell Beacon Broadband products and services</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Engaging interpersonal skills</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to read, write and understand the English language</p><h3>Other Duties</h3><p><br>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Direct Sales experience preferred.</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Knowledge of cable TV, satellite TV or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals and the ability to educate consumers on Beacon Broadband products and services as needed.</p><h3>Work Environment</h3><p><br>Spends 90% of time in an outside environment for extended periods of time in any season, with potential exposure to inclement weather. &nbsp;Some remote work and schedule flexibility may be allowed as coordinated with and approved by the individual&rsquo;s immediate supervisor.</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Minimal time in an office environment</p><p>&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must be able to walk for long hours and distances.</p><h3>Physical Demands</h3><p><br>This is an outside sales role requiring the incumbent to drive, walk, and meet with people in a variety of environments.</p><h3>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</h3><p><br>This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm with off-hours meetings and events frequently required.</p><h3>Travel</h3><p><br>Regular travel throughout the Beacon Broadband service territory.
