The Assembly Technician plays a key role in ensuring efficient, accurate, and high-quality assembly operations. This position is responsible for setting up, calibrating, operating, and maintaining assembly machinery while troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues to minimize downtime. The Assembly Technician works closely with production, engineering, and fellow technicians to keep production running smoothly and safely.
Requirements
- Set up, calibrate, and configure assembly machinery according to production requirements and engineering drawings
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues to reduce downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assembly equipment and document all activities
- Monitor assembly processes to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications
- Adjust machine settings as needed to correct quality or performance issues
- Provide technical support to assembly operators during production runs
- Maintain accurate records of machine setups, maintenance, and production changes
- Follow all safety policies and procedures when operating or maintaining equipment
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, equipment, and performance
- Collaborate with engineering, technicians, and production staff to meet production goals
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of experience as an Assembly Technician or in a similar manufacturing role
- Hands-on experience working with assembly machinery and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
