About the Role

Overview

The Director of Contract Strategy at Torchlight is a critical, senior-level leader who serves as the primary owner for all acquisition activities, strategic renewals, and the identification of high-value expansion opportunities. This role is essential for driving continued growth within our existing defense lines of business, directly supporting Torchlight's mission to deliver cutting-edge Behavior Based Insights™ to government decision-makers. You will serve as the trusted, expert point of contact for key government and contractor stakeholders, including Program Managers, Contracting Officers (COs), Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs), and Prime and sub-contractors, ensuring all strategies align with maximizing business value and operationalizing complex contract obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Development: Architecting, implementing, and continually optimizing short- and long-term contract strategies, including sophisticated pricing models, to maximize business value and successfully launch new products and advanced analytic capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serving as the central nexus between legal, finance, sales, and marketing teams to ensure flawless strategic alignment and the compliant, efficient operationalization of all government contract obligations.
  • Creation of Sales Channels: Proactively identifying and developing robust avenues for sustained, exponential growth into existing client spaces and successfully capturing new client opportunities within the defense and federal sector.

Qualifications Required

  • Experience: 10-15+ years of demonstrable, progressive experience in contracts, government sourcing, or commercial management within the defense or highly regulated industries.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a closely related field; a Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise: Possessing deep, commanding knowledge of FAR/DFAR (government) or equivalent procurement regulations in other regulated industries, with a proven history of navigating complex contractual environments.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills necessary to manage high-stakes defense contracts and articulate complex strategies across all organizational levels.
