About the Role

Description

Job Title: Child Watch Attendant 

Status: part-time, Y job grade 1

Wage: $12.88/hour

Shifts:  Varies in shifts-CW attendant Tues/Thurs AM's/ CW Attendant Family Fun Coverage Tues/ Thursday 9A-12P & Saturday 8A-1P sub shifts also available

Reports to: Family Services Coordinator   

Probation: Subject to a 12 month -introductory (probationary) period

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Child Watch Center Attendant provides a quality member-service childcare program that reflects a positive image for the YMCA and its services to the community. The attendant will provide positive growth and nurturing of children in the program by attending to children, getting to know parents & families, and meeting individual needs with special attention to safety. The Child Watch Attendant should model the Y core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility and must be able to thrive in an environment with the unique challenges of a non-profit, community service organization and have the flexibility to work in a constantly changing environment. Works with general supervision.


Complete required child abuse prevention training, follow all abuse prevention and risk management policies, maintain appropriate boundaries, supervise responsibly, and fulfill all legal and ethical duties as a mandatory reporter by promptly reporting and cooperating with any investigations of suspected abuse or policy violations.

Requirements

Education:  Required -- must have current CPR or obtain within first 45 days of employment

                  Preferred -- high school diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and experience

Experience: Preferred -- experience working with children
