Lonestar Electric Industrial Supply is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. This role is critical in managing procurement processes, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services in alignment with company needs and specifications.
  • Maintain and update purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Communicate with vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement standards.
  • Research and identify potential new suppliers to improve cost efficiency and quality.
  • Address and resolve issues related to order discrepancies, delays, or other vendor concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements.
  • Prepare reports and provide insights on purchasing activities to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational goals and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with procurement software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the electrical supply or distribution industry is a plus.
