About the Role

Local-Based Role | Customer-Supported Regional Program 


We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Wind Technicians to join our team at the Black Rock site in Elk Garden, WV. This role is part of a customer-supported regional staffing model, providing a stable home site with potential opportunities to support nearby regional sites as the program continues to develop.


This position is open to both experienced wind technicians and individuals looking to enter and grow within the wind industry. Technicians will work alongside strong leadership and field teams while contributing directly to safe, reliable turbine operations.


 

Position Overview• Home Site: Black Rock – Elk Garden, WV • Primary Assignment: Full-time at the Black Rock site• Regional Support: Potential opportunities to support nearby Customer sites as the cluster program develops• Technician Levels: Basic, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting• Career Growth: Advancement through Customer-supported training and certification pathways

Requirements

• Participate in daily safety meetings and Job Safety Analyses

• Inspect tools and equipment to ensure safe operation

• Inspect the exterior and physical integrity of wind turbine towers

• Climb towers to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair turbine equipment

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting and repairs

• Test electrical components and systems

• Replace worn or malfunctioning components

• Follow maintenance manuals and standard operating procedures

• Complete written and electronic work reports accurately

• Maintain end-of-day housekeeping standards 

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned


 Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• At least one year of related maintenance experience.

• Active GWO Basic Safety Training certificate, preferred.

• At least one year of experience working around heavy equipment preferred.

• Must understand and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair, all mechanical, hydraulic, braking, and electrical systems of a    turbine.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Must have a team-driven attitude.

• Ability to work on a diverse team.

• Ability to use technology apps and devices.


Experienced Technicians

• Prior wind turbine experience preferred 

• Active or near-complete wind certifications (GWO preferred) 

• Ability to work within a team environment 

• Willingness to support regional Customer platforms as needed


New-to-Industry Candidates

• Mechanical, electrical, construction, or military background preferred 

• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn 

• Comfortable working at heights 

• Coachable, motivated, and safety-driven

**New to the wind industry? No problem. Structured training is provided to help technicians build skills quickly and progress into higher-level roles over time.


Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladder systems with tools to heights of 260 feet or more 

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted 

• Ability to work in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions 

• Ability to work in confined spaces 

• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment 

• Ability to work beyond normal operating hours based on business needs


Additional Details

• Regional travel, if required, will be limited to the Customer cluster 

• Travel expenses and per diem provided when supporting sites away from the home base 

• All certifications will be reviewed and verified during the hiring process
